Poughkeepsie, NY- May 20, 2010—Teresa Laffin, a Senior Accountant with Sedore, Hudson Valley CPA’s, has graduated from Leadership Dutchess.
Laffin, who began working at Sedore as a Marist intern in 2006, joined the firm that same year and received her CPA license in 2008. She currently serves the firm’s municipal, not-for-profit, small business and commercial clients.
Laffin’s Leadership Dutchess application was approved in August, and she officially began the program in September.
“Leadership Dutchess has given me the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people in our community and to truly realize how much our region has to offer,” says Laffin. “I’ve learned so many valuable skills to use in both the workplace and in my personal life.”
The Leadership Dutchess Program is offered by the Greater Southern Dutchess Chamber of Commerce Foundation and is designed to develop participants’ leadership skills through a variety of workshops. Workshop topics include everything from team building and stress management to critical thinking and crisis communications. Participants are expected to complete the nine-month program by attending classes, an overnight retreat and by fulfilling at least 16 hours of community service.
